2009: A year in review

OK, so sure this blog is just for a picture each day and it started in June, but 2009 has been one of the best years of my life. I can't wait to see what is to come in 2010! So here is a brief recap, I think it's worth remembering.

January:
Started the year with my best friend, in a very Elizabeth and Kaitlyn way. I wouldn't have had it any other way.

February:
Watched the bulldogs beat the Gators for the 1st time live. At basketball. Fell in love. Again. With the Same boy.

March:
Saw real snow for the 1st time since I moved to Georgia when I was 5. Saw 70 degree temps before all of the snow melted.

April:
Planned my 1st big event: Zoo Atlanta for HERO with 150 kids and 150 students. Survived.

May:
Applied for an internship with Coke North America on a whim when I found out I couldn't go to Spain anymore. Literally put together an application the day it was due. Didn't get it. Wound up with the opportunity of a lifetime as the intern at the World of Coke downtown instead. Learned God always has a plan.

June:
Felt at home at Turner Field for the 1st time when my boys came to town. Watched as they lost one game, won two more, and started a revolution towards a 27th World Championship.

July:
Helped my best friend find a place to live in greatest City in the world. Fell asleep to music from a Jazz player on a rock in the middle of Central Park.

August:
Turned 21. Had my 1st real alcoholic beverage. Yes, it is true that I had never had a full alcoholic drink until I was 21. I would rather have 200 calories of delicious cake than a drink that doesn't taste good, though I have found a few tasty ones since then.

September:
Went deep sea fishing for the 1st time. Learned that after you catch a shark, don't go swimming, said shark will come back up to visit.

October:
Visited Savannah for the 1st time. Fell in love with graveyards and spanish moss. Watched the bulldogs lose to the Gators, but loved it all none the less.

November:
Last home football game as a student. Sad, sad day for a football fan whose college career has been nearly defined between these hedges.

December:
Finished out an amazing year with UGA HEROs at the HERO Olympics. Successfully transported 170 kids to Athens, and again, survived. Learned that I can never give back to these kids what they have given to me.
